Summary edit

Simeon North of Middleton, CT, adapted a number of Model 1817 flintlocks into four shot, superposed load models for militia use in 1824. The muskets were modified by adding a section to the rear of the barrel containing 4 touchholes, a brazed on bracket, and a sliding pistol lock to fire the charges.
