Summary

Description
English: Queensland's first tank locos, the 4D9 class 2-4-2T locomotives were bought by Queensland Railways from Dubs of Glasgow in 1880 for use on the Bundaberg Railway. No.2 (Dubs 1415 of 1880) was sold to Childers Sugar Mill in 1894 and later resold to the Public Works Department, Tasmania for use on the Macquarie Harbour breakwater construction. This is a rare photo of the loco during the breakwater construction as it is almost still in original condition, the most visible changes being the removal of the cowcatcher and number plate from the smokebox side.
