Summary

Description
English: 400th anniversary of the reunification of the Russian nation.
The souvenir sheet of Russia, 1 stamp×40.00 Rubles, 2 November 2012, PTC Marka Catalogue No 1647. Coated paper. Offset printing. Perforation: frame 12×12½ . The size of the souvenir sheet: 89×90 mm. The size of the stamp: 30×42 mm. Print run: 90,000.
The souvenir sheet was issued to commemorate 400th anniversary of the expelling of the Polish-Lithuanian occupation forces from Moscow during the Time of Troubles in 1612. This event is considered as the symbol of the fact that the all social classes of occupied and torn by a civil war Russia united to preserve Russian statehood when there was no central power (neither a tsar nor a patriarch) to guide them.
The souvenir sheet features: the leaders of the struggle against Polish-Lithuanian invasion Prince Dmitry Pozharsky and Kuzma Minin (in the centre, with a sword that they are holding together); the spiritual leader of the resistance to invaders and the strife against separatists Patriarch Hermogenes (on the left, in the white klobuk); women giving their jewellery to the needs of the militia organized by K. Minin and D. Pozharsky; the icon of Theotokos of Kazan, that is considered as a protector of Russia and, as it is believed, was helping Russian forces during the war on interventionists; the coat of arms of Russia in 1612–1620 (on the right), the view of the Moscow Kremlin in 17th century.
