English: West tower of St Laurence's parish church, Brafield-on-the-Green, Northamptonshire, seen from the south. Note the buttress (one of three) and the discs a the ends of 12 iron tension rods. The first buttresses were added in the 14th century when the tower was given a new bell-chamber stage. Further buttresses were added in the 18th and 19th centuries. |
