Summary

Description St Colman's Church, Havant Road, Cosham, City of Portsmouth, England. A Roman Catholic church in the Cosham area of the city, built in 1928 after fundraising began seven years earlier. It is part of a joint parish with St Paul's Church (1970) at Paulsgrove, a postwar housing estate which has always been within Cosham parish. The unusual dedication is to Colmán of Cloyne, a 6th-century monk who is the patron saint of the Diocese of Cloyne in Ireland. The Diocese of Cloyne had a longstanding connection with the Diocese of Portsmouth in the latter's early years, and Bishop William Cotter was a native of Cloyne town.
