D. 1301, when it was acci-dentally burned, together with a great part of theCity; it was again burned in the year 1754,and was repaired in its prefent beautiful form inthe year 1759. The external appearance of this church formsone of the principal ornaments of the City inthe center of which it is iituated, in a ftreet ofthe fame name, and fronts to the weft. Theelevation of the front, reprefented in the an-nexed engraving, difplays both elegance and de-licacy, and is perfedl in its proportions ; thefirft ftory is ornamented by fix Ionic pilafters,with their entablature, a grand entrance in theDoric order, and two ride doors ; the fecondftory is in the Corinthian order, crowned bya pediment, a large window lights the Loft, from 88 DESCRIPTION OF from whence an excellent fett of bells are
