English: Atmospheric entry trajectory illustrating the basic phases of flight in a skip reentry. In this case, a single skip is used to extend the landing range of the vehicle, for example to reach a landing site on the far side of the Earth when returning from the Moon.

This vector image was created with Inkscape.

This SVG image contains embedded raster graphics.^[1] Such images are liable to produce inferior results when scaled to different sizes (as well as possibly being very inefficient in file size). If appropriate to do so, they should be replaced with images created using vector graphics.

This file had a "disappearing earth" issue. (See the file history below) It started in the Graphics Lab with a simple request. An attempt to narrow down the problem is here.
