DescriptionSeymour, CT - Seymour Trust Co. Building 02.jpg
English: The former Seymour Trust Co., Seymour, Connecticut. Between 1922-1924, that bank erected a brand-new building. The architects and engineers of the original building was the Thomas M. James Company (based in Boston) which specialized mainly in designing bank buildings. The main bank building was featured in a former trade publication known as the American Architect and Building News on August 6, 1924. The company later expanded its office with a single-story stone-faced addition, which was built in 1981, and stretched south of the block between the Post Office and the main bank building. Previously, several small businesses had operated in small buildings adjacent to the main bank building which were destroyed by a fire in the late 1970's.The building is now part of the Downtown Seymour Historic District, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
