Summary

Description
English: A transverse thin section of the Sequoioxylon montanense holotype wood. "Fig. 19.-Transverse section . Here is shown the extreme contrast between spring and summer wood. The spring zone is so exiguous that it has been unable to withstand the pressure to which it was subjected and the consequent shear is very evident. The wood parenchyma is not well seen in this figure."
