English: Edward Abner memorial in section Circle-Right North at Prospect Hill Cemetery in Washington, D.C., in the United States in 2014.
Prospect Hill Cemetery was added to the Register of Historic Places of the District of Columbia (a listing of historic sites maintained by the city) in 2005.
Edward Abner (1834-1914) was a local beer brewer who partnered with Robert Portner to found one of the District of Columbia's most prominent beer breweries in the mid-1800s. He later owned several beer gardens and restaurants in the District of Columbia. His nephew Edward F. Abner (1864-1910) was also a noted D.C. brewer and is also buried at Prospect Hill Cemetery in a large mausoleum.
Noted German American sculptor Jacques Jouvenal designed and sculpted the memorial, which dates to 1877.
