Description
English: The light produced by traversing charged particles in the scintillator is collected by wavelength-shifting fibres and detected by photon counters located at one or both ends of the fibres. On the example of the operation of scintillators in the ND280 detector of the T2K experiment.
Polski: Światło wytwarzane przez cząstki naładowane przechodzące przez scyntylator jest zbierane przez włókna fluoroscecyjnych światłowodów WLS (ang. WaveLength-Shifting fibre - włókno zmieniające długość fali światła) i rejestrowane przez liczniki fotonów (fotopowielacze krzemowe), umieszczone na jednym lub na obu końcach włókna. Na przykładzie działania scyntylatorów w detektorze ND280 eksperymentu T2K.
