English: This is a photograph of the Soldiers’ Memorial Fountain and Park in Poughkeepsie, New York, located at the intersection of Montgomery and Market Streets. This Dutchess County Civil War memorial is listed on the National Register (100000647), and sits in a small public park surrounded by lovely blooms throughout Spring and Summer.
It is believed that the fountain is one of four remaining castings entitled Model No. 5 created by Janes, Beebe & Company from a design by French sculptor Michel Lienard. This cast iron fountain was first offered in 1855, and was officially unveiled in Poughkeepsie on July 4, 1870.
