Subject: Wikipedia article photo
Hi, I'm a big fan of yours (primarily of your appearances on Red Eye),
and I'm also one of the horde of countless editors/contributors to Wikipedia.
The Wikipedia article for you does not have a nice photo of you:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/S._E._Cupp
So I was wondering if you have a nice image of yourself that we could
upload to Wikipedia.
The only catch, if you could call it that, is that you (or the original owner
the image) needs to grant permission to re-use the image under Wikipedia's
terms of use, which means that the images must be licensed for re-use
under one or more of the various licenses; the recommended licensing uses
both the "GNU Free Documentation License" (GFDL) and the "Creative Commons
Attribution Share-Alike" license, which retains the original owner's copyright
on the image, but grants permissions to everyone to re-use the image
provided that they properly attribute its source. The licenses expressly
protect authors "from being considered responsible for modifications made
by others" while ensuring that authors get credit for their work.
More legalese details can be found at these links:

A simple reponse of "I understand and agree to the terms of the GFDL"
or something eqivalent will suffice. I will upload any relevant emails along
with the image(s) to leave a digital trail proving that you (or whoever is
granting permission) has given Wikipedia the appropriate licensing
permissions.
Some examples of photos I took and their appropriate licences:

I can upload the image to the Wikipedia image repository, or to the
larger image repository at Wikimedia Commons (which contains
images shared by all Wikimedia projects):

Thank you for your time and consideration.
