English: SAR Class 6E E1220 Location: Bellville Depot, Cape Town. The shell of the retired E1220, which had been recorded as dumped at Bellville by 1994, was converted to a braai facility complete with chimney at some stage in the mid to late 1990s. E1220 was never allocated to Blue Train service and was probably still wearing the SAR maroon livery when she was retired, so it can be presumed that the SAR blue repaint occurred at the time of her grounding.
