DescriptionRoyal Guards of Hawaii with Schellenbaum (6358882511).jpg
Hawaii Royal Guardsmen post guard with the Schellenbaum by Iolani palace. The Schellenbaum (bell tree) was presented to the Royal Hawaiian Band in 1983. It is a replica of the original Schellenbaum that was presented to King Kalakaua in 1887. The Schellenbaum is an ornamental instrument which rings and jingles when shaken. It is more of a symbol of a band than an instrument. The banner is the coat of arms of the Hawaiian Kingdom.
