Summary

Description Hawaii Royal Guardsmen post guard with the Schellenbaum by Iolani palace. The Schellenbaum (bell tree) was presented to the Royal Hawaiian Band in 1983. It is a replica of the original Schellenbaum that was presented to King Kalakaua in 1887. The Schellenbaum is an ornamental instrument which rings and jingles when shaken. It is more of a symbol of a band than an instrument. The banner is the coat of arms of the Hawaiian Kingdom.
