English: Eulogio Rodriguez[1] Eulogio "Amang" Adona Rodríguez, Sr. (January 21, 1883 – December 9, 1964) was a Filipino politician, the longest serving Senate President after Manuel L. Quezon, serving the post from April 30, 1952 to April 17, 1953 and May 20, 1953 to April 5, 1963. Rodríguez was born in Montalban (renamed Rodriguez in his honor), Distrito de Morong on January 21, 1883 to Petronilo Rodríguez and Monica Adona. He first studied at the Spanish-run public school in Montalban, then took his secondary course at the Colegio de San Juan de Letran in Manila, where he completed his Bachelor of Arts in 1896. He then studied law under a private tutor. --- in the --- Municipal Gymnasium-- Brgy. Balite, Rodriguez, Rizal[2] beside the Municipal Hall, the Rodriguez ancestral house, and the Church of Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary are located here. The population of this barangay is 8,827. His towering statue is inside the Gymnasium, while that of Licerio Gerónimo [5] (August 27, 1855–January 16, 1924) stands outside in front of the Gymnsium. ---------- Rodriguez, Rizal[6] is a first-class, urban municipality in the province of Rizal, Philippines, located on the slopes of the Sierra Madre mountain range, the largest town in Rizal province with an area of 312.70 km². The town's old name, Montalban, refers to its mountainous topography. It was also the town's official name from 1909, until Batas Pambansa Blg. 275 was passed in September 1982, which officially renamed the town. The town's official name is taken from the family name of Eulogio Rodriguez, Sr., [7] one of the most prominent Montalbeños.
