July 13, 1983. Merchant seamen from the tanker USNS Passumpsic attempt to revive a Filipino fisherman about 70 miles southwest of Subic Bay in the South China Sea. The fisherman was one of seven men rescued by the Passumpsic after a tropical storm capsized the Filipino's fishing boat four days earlier.
