DescriptionRAF Chinook Mali.jpg	English: Pictured is an RAF engineer conducting routine servicing and cleaning on the exterior of an RAF Chinook Ch-47 helicopter.Three Chinook CH-47 aircraft from 18 Squadron, RAF Odiham, were deployed to Mali, located in Sub-Saharan Africa, on Operation Newcombe in a support effort for the French-led Operation Barkhane.Around 80 UK Military personnel from the RAF and British Army - ranging from pilots to engineers - were deployed there, each with their own significant roles to play to ensure that the chinook aircraft could effectively sustain and support operational needs and requirements.
