Description
English: Queen Elizabeth Grammar School (QEGS). The boys only day school on Northgate, a grade II listed building, was built of ashlar stone in a mock Tudor style by Richard Lane of Manchester in 1833-4, as the West Riding Proprietary School. The building was then purchased at auction in 1854 by the governors of the original Grammar School, which still stands in Brook Street. 1095544.
