English: The story of Purple Cow was first told by Judith Holmes to her daughter, Wendy in the late 1970's. One night in 1997, while Wendy was working an overnight shift in a dark, scary television studio by herself, she decided to bring Purple Cow to life in a story. Many years later, Judith and Wendy sat down over a hot cup of tea and began drawing. Together they made Sally and Purple Cow come to life for all to enjoy. Though Wish on a Purple Cow was written over 25 years ago, the story has not been published until now. Children have been hearing the tales of Purple Cow and Dreamland for the past 45 years! Yes, 45!
