File:Presidio of SF Ordoñez gun side.JPG

Original file (3,264 × 2,448 pixels, file size: 1.55 MB, MIME type: image/jpeg)

Summary

Description An Ordoñez gun originally from a Spanish coastal fort at Subic Bay, Philippines, which was later captured by Filipino forces. The gun was reportedly destroyed during an American attack on Subic Bay in September 1899, but some historians believe the damage was due to a shell explosion. William Randolph Hearst acquired this gun and presnted it to the City of San Francisco where it was on display at Columbia Square Park in 1973 before being moved to the Main Post of the Presidio of San Francisco.
