Summary

Description
English: Two examples of catalytic kinetics displaying pre-equilibrium behavior. For each case, i) describes the catalytic cycle with relevant rate constants and concentrations, ii) displays the concentration of product and reactant over the course of the reaction, iii) describes the rate of the reaction as substrate is consumed from right to left, and iv) describes the catalyst resting state as substrate is consumed from right to left. The arbitrary rate constants used to describe these scenarios are as follows for a) K1=k1/k-1=50/30 and k2= 1 (1/s) and b) K1=k1/k-1=50/30, K2=k2/k-2=40/20, and k3=1 (1/s). The data used to generate these plots were obtained by kinetic simulations with CopasiIU free software.
