English: Pair of Gill and Knubley, flintlock duelling pistols, circa 1790 two pistols; .46 inch calibre; octagonal barrels; captive ramrod; silver trigger guard and knob at base of pistol grips; hammer safety catch to rear of hammer pivot; .1 has flint intact; oval silver escutcheons on wrist of butt missing- .1- front screw of lock plate; large crack left hand side of forend stock .2- hammer safety catch broken off; large crack extending to both sides to front of forestock markings- London proof and view marks at left rear of barrel acorn mark on underside on right hand lock plate- GILL and - KNUBLEY on top of barrel- CHARING CROSS LONDON four hallmarks on silver trigger guard, two hallmarks on butt manufacturer- Gill and Knubley, Charing Cross, London, England, c1790.
