Summary edit
Description | Picture of Carrie Moyer's painting Pirate Jenny (2012) at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, in 2022. An abstract painting composed of several interlocking shapes and fields of colors, rendered in yellows, blues, purples, greens, and blacks. The shapes are variously monochromatic and dripping, appearing as if parts of the shapes have had their color rubbed away or been spray-painted on. Glitter is used throughout the dripping/rubbed portions of the work. |
