Persian manuscript on paper, with 20ll. of black nasta'liq, later illuminated with gold clouds, mounted on card with blue margins- document-24.7 x 11.2 cm. This unsigned and undated missive concerns the fall of General Yermolov following an Iranian victory in battle in Georgia.

The general was a Russian war hero whose glittering career came to an abrupt end when he was held responsible for this military set back during the Russo-Persian war of 1826-8 AD.
