O Parque Zoológico de São Paulo é o maior zoológico do Brasil. Fica localizado em uma área de 824.529 m² de Mata Atlântica original, com 4 quilômetros de alamedas. Aloja as nascentes do histórico riacho do Ipiranga, ao sul da cidade de São Paulo. Exibe mais de 3.200 animais, sendo 102 espécies de mamíferos, 216 espécies de aves, 95 espécies de répteis, 15 espécies de anfíbios e 16 espécies de invertebrados, em recintos que reproduzem os habitats naturais desses animais. A fazenda do Zôo, de 572 ha, produz hortaliças usadas na fabricação de rações variadas para os animais, além de material para os recintos onde ficam os animais. Nela ficam animais que precisam de maior área para acasalamento. O Zôo tem creche para filhotes rejeitados pelas mães, chocadeiras elétricas e sala de incubação para ovos de aves e répteis. A função educativa é enfatizada no Parque. Sua biblioteca de mais de quatro mil volumes é aberta ao público. Suas parcerias com outras instituições estaduais, federais e estrangeiras incluem pesquisas que facilitem a preservação de espécies ameaçadas. Atualmente o zoológico é o quarto maior do mundo.

The São Paulo Zoo (Portuguese: Parque Zoológico de São Paulo) is the largest zoo in Brazil. Located in an area of ​​824.529 m² (8875.2 square feet) of original Atlantic Forest, with 4 kilometers of alleys. It houses the headwaters of the historic Ipiranga Brook, south of the city of São Paulo. It displays more than 3,200 animals and 102 species of mammals, 216 species of birds, 95 species of reptiles, 15 species of amphibians and 16 species of invertebrates, in enclosures that replicate the natural habitats of these animals. The Zoo's farm of 572 ha, produces vegetables used in the manufacture of feed for various animals, and material to the enclosures where the animals are. In it are animals that need extra area for mating. The zoo has nursery for cubs rejected by their mothers, electric incubators and incubation room for eggs of birds and reptiles. The educational function is emphasized in the zoo. Its library of more than four thousand volumes is open to the public.
