English: Constructing a parabola using the parallelogram method. Horizontal line is divided into 10 equal parts, two vertical lines are divided into five equal parts each. Focus and directrix are in red. The method is described in problem 17 on page 63 of the following book: A.V.Pogorelov. Geometria. Moskva:Nauka, 1983. See also here. The method has been used in engineering since the beginning of the 20th century or earlier. Русский: Построение параболы. Горизонтальная линия поделена на 10 равных частей, две вертикальные — на 5 равных частей. Фокус и директриса параболы выделены красным цветом.
