Description
English: A rough sketch of the junction of old Market Street/Market Stead Lane, Cateaton Street, and Deansgate in Manchester, drawn in graphite by Scottish artist John Ralston (1789-1833), circa 1822. This version was first published in 1875 after it was rediscovered; it is an earlier version of the picture that was used to produce a lithograph that was intended for inclusion in Views of the Ancient Buildings in Manchester (1823-1825), but which eventually was only first published in 1975.
