| Description |
English: Number of YHA hostels, based on the lists at the page List of past and present youth hostels in England and Wales as of 1 July 2010. Because the lists do not say what time of year the hostels opened / shut, I assumed that on average that each hostel counts for 0.5 during the year when it opened and the year when it shut, and for 1.0 for every year in between. NB this does not allow for any opened and closed during 2010, the figure for 2010 is as of the date of the list, which claims to be end of 2009. |
