Uploader's note: This photograph depicts Maday, who was clearly not holding the camera at the time of capture. It was also published by Maday. I am usually hesitant to trust the free licensing status of such photographs because the photographer (not the subject) usually owns the copyright in the photographs they take. Two factors have overcome this doubt for me: 1) Maday is a photographer, so she probably had the means to take a high quality photograph of herself, and 2) the authorship and copyright fields in the photo's metadata attribute the photo to her. Given these circumstances, I think that it is reasonable to assume that Maday is the copyright holder in the photograph and that she had the right to publish it under the GPL.
