Description
English: Nigerian Army soldier, part of the Economic Community Military Observation Group (ECOMOG), mans one of the six security checkpoints on the 36 mile road leading from Robert's International Airport to Monrovia, Liberia. The Nigerians were replaced by other ECOMOG nations during Operation Assured Lift, a 17 day United States airlift and support mission assisting West African states deploying more than 1100 troops to Liberia as part of the region's ongoing peacekeeping force.
