English: Plate VIII, Illustration from L'art de la porcelaine / par m. le comte de Milly. Paris : De l'Imprimerie de L.F. Delatour, 1771-1772. This book was published in the Descriptions des arts et métiers faites ou approuvées par messieurs de l’Académie Royale des Sciences, a 113-volume series devoted to handcraft and manufacturing processes. In it the Count de Milly published the secret of hard-paste porcelain, previously a closely guarded secret. This illustration shows workers in a French porcelain factory. Bottom left: "Dessiner et graver par N. Ransonnette".
