Description

Map of the parish of Nenthorn in the south of Berwickshire. As shown by the map, it forms a salient into Roxburghshire and is connected to its own county by relatively short borders with the parishes of Earlston and Hume. The church and hamlet of Nenthorn are in the west of the parish and Newton is in the east, principally the estate of Newton Don.

Source

A small extract of a map of Berwickshire was taken, to illustrate the main features of Nenthorn, then digitally enhanced to clarify these features. The base map is in "New Statistical Account of Scotland,Vol.2 Linlithgow-Haddington-Berwick", publ Blackwood,Edinburgh,1845 (non-copyright)
