発掘されているのはまだほんの一部らしいのですが、とにかく広大な遺跡です。 ７世紀に唐の玄奘(三蔵法師)が滞在(最初は学僧だったけど、最後は教師になりました)していた頃は、１万人規模の大学だったようです。
