Indian Burial Mounds
Between 1500 and 2000 years ago, Indian people chose this high bluff above the Mississippi River as the resting place for their dead. The impressive burial mounds built over a period of many years remind us of the diverse peoples and cultures that flourished here long before the first European explorers arrived by the late 1600s.
