English: From left, training instructors Czech Republic Warrant Officer Martin Mahr, Japan Ground Self-Defense Force Capt. Yusuke Minagi , U.S. Army Sgt. 1st Class Lucas Loht, and Australian Capt. Adam Murgatroyd discuss convoy operations June 23 at Five Hills Training Area, Mongolia, at Exercise Khaan Quest 2014. KQ14 is a regularly scheduled, multinational exercise hosted annually by Mongolian Armed Forces and co-sponsored this year by U.S. Army, Pacific, and U.S. Marine Corps Forces, Pacific. KQ14 is the latest in a continuing series of exercises designed to promote regional peace and security. This year marks the 12th iteration of this training event. Mahr is a convoy improvised explosive device instructor with the Czech Republic Army; Minagi is an international peace activity training officer from Shizuoka, Japan; Loht is a platoon sergeant with 1st Squadron, 40th Cavalry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division; and Murgatroyd is a cavalry instructor with the Headquarters Forces Command from Sydney, Australia. |
