Summary

Description
English: Midland Street, Hull Looking northwest from Owbridge Court flats. No.14 Midland Street is home to Ideal Printers and the Ideal School of Motoring & Motorcycle Training. I believe No.12 to the right of it is now a warehouse, possibly belonging to the printers. To the right of these at No.10 is the ornate but crumbling Albert Hall which has ground floor capitals depicting minstrels and the remnants of a sign on the front saying "The Fair and Square Club". The Albert Hall is the only surviving purpose-built music hall in Hull, built in 1874 by W Fussey to designs by W Thompson. It was bought and probably remodelled by Worthington's brewery in 1892 when it became the Albert Hall Inn. It closed as a pub 1965 and the building is now well and truly derelict. There was a cold wind blowing when I took this. Either that or the bloke in the foreground needs a better fitting suit.
