English: Ex-North Eastern 0-6-0T at Middlesbrough Locomotive Depot.
Worsdell J72 0-6-0T No. 68740 (built 1922) standing beside the coaling stage at Middlesbrough Depot (see NZ4920 : Middlesbrough Locomotive Depot, open-air roundhouse). It looks as if the fireman - who probably goes home by bike! - is trying to direct coal from one of those trollies into the small bunker, while talking to a man in a mac on the footplate. These little shunting engines were introduced in 1898 but were so useful many more were built in 1922 and even by BR in 1949-51.
