DescriptionMichael Albert House, Amherst, New York - 20200706.jpg
English: The Michael Albert House, 58 Youngs Road, Amherst, New York, July 2020. This two-and-a-half-story clapboard farmhouse dates to the first decade of the 20th century, when it was home of smallholder and sometime hotelier Michael Albert (1857-1938), who owned three acres of land stretching south from here to Main Street. It's not especially notable from an architectural standpoint but is a fairly good representation of vernacular farmhouse construction of the era, with some moderately impressive touches such as bay windows on the north side elevation and what could be described as an ersatz Palladian window on the front gable. It was designated a historic property by the Amherst Historic Preservation Commission in 2015.
