Description
English: A line of music in mensural notation, showing examples of multi-note ligatures. After an example facsimile provided by W. Apel, The notation of polyphonic music (1960), p.100, from the tenor of "laudamus te" of an early 15th century mass (Ms. Bol. Bibl. Univ. 2216). Color highlighting used to distinguish the different note values (semibreves blue, breves red, longae green). Lower half: the same line re-written in stand-alone notes.
