Soap advertisement illustrated by Howard Davie in August 1898 for Watson's Matchless Cleanser. Davie illustrated the children's book Heroes of History by Alfred H. Miles, published in 1915, which included Nelson, Wellington, Sir Philip Sydney etc. in heroic action scenes. He also illustrated an advertisement for McConnells Whisky. British soap advertisement. Brand of soap produced by Joseph Watson & Sons Ltd., Leeds, England.
