Description
English: Muslims comprise about 6% of the population of Trinidad and Tobago, West Indies. Islam was brought to the Caribbean by indentured workers from British India in the period 1838 -1917. There are over 100 mainly small mosques (masjids) scattered throughout the country. Islam is practiced freely alongside Christianity and Hinduism.
