Description Mashhad museum. The exhibit carries a sign describing this as a mummified "Sea Devil" (Persian: شیطان دریا‎), and although sea devil can also mean a (manta) ray, the sign identifies the specimen as a Ceratiidae or angler fish.[1][2]
