English: Oil painting of Market Stead Lane before most of its buildings were demolished and the street widened in the 1820s, captured by Scottish artist John Ralston (1789-1833). This work is a more detailed and finessed version of an earlier graphite drawing, Market Lane, Manchester (1821), which was included in Views of the Ancient Buildings of Manchester (1823-1825).
