New Zealand children and young adult's author Margaret Mahy at the Kaiapoi Club (formerly Kaiapoi Workingmen's Club), 27 July 2011.

Waimakariri District Libraries organised the event, called "An Audience with Margaret Mahy", in which she read several of her favourite books to a group of local children during the school holidays.

She is wearing her characteristic rainbow-coloured wig, a multi-coloured scarf with many badges attached, and another smaller multi-coloured scarf.
