English: Maharaja of the Princely State of Banaras known as Kashi Naresh. He was also a religious leader. The people of Varanasi considered him as an incarnation of Lord Shiva. He made a great contribution in the culture of Varanasi, and started the tradition of staging the Ramlila at Ramnagar around 1830.
