Description
English: 148 Commando Forward Observations Battery Royal Artillery used MSTAR mobile radar during Exercise Heiktila.

MSTAR is a light-weight all-weather battlefield radar, able to detect helicopters, vehicles and infantry to a range in excess of 20 Km.

Powered by a standard Army field battery, MSTAR is used by artillery Fire Support Teams (FSTs) to detect where artillery shells are landing in relation to the target, enabling corrections to be made.
