El ministro de Defensa, Pedro Cateriano Bellido, cumplió una visita de inspección a las bases contraterroristas ubicadas en el Valle de los Ríos Apurímac, Ene y Mantaro (VRAEM) donde comprobó las condiciones óptimas en que se desempeñan nuestros soldados. Acompañado del comandante general del Ejército, General Ronald Hurtado Jiménez, el titular del sector arribó a las bases de Mazamari, Pichari e Incahuasi, en las regiones Junín y Cusco. En Incahuasi, el ministro verificó las nuevas instalaciones y el correcto desempeño del personal asignado en esta base militar, desde donde se logrará control territorial en la zona. También se supervisaron las operaciones militares que se realizan en Mazángaro y Unión Mantaro, puntos claves en el VRAEM y rutas de tránsito del narcotráfico. El ministro Cateriano anunció que el gobierno reforzará la estrategia contraterrorista con importantes adquisiciones. “A fines de este año llegarán ocho nuevos helicópteros para servir en esta zona. Se trata de una geografía agreste donde el principal vehículo de transporte es el helicóptero, y las Fuerzas Armadas lo requieren”, mencionó. Finalmente, adelantó que el gobierno construirá cuatro nuevas bases contraterroristas y la Fuerza Aérea adquirirá seis radares, destinados a reforzar la lucha contra el terrorismo, narcotráfico y otras amenazas. |
