The first of several longtailed and cave salamanders observed on a series of south-facing dolomite glades. The previous days were cool and rainy, with this being the first warm and sunny day since. This salamander was found under a flat rock adjacent to a stream intersecting a glade and near to the lower woodline. The underside of the rock was heavily saturated.
