Summary

Description
English: The infographic demonstrates how there has been a clear rise and fall of local multiplayer games being made. The peak in the 7° generation of consoles coincides with the popularization of online multiplayer games that were before restricted to the PC.

That said, data about local multiplayer functionality in games is highly underreported, so most datasets are incomplete and don’t take into consideration retro and indie games that would have a considerable impact on the results of the graph.
